A few years back, I was a resident of a ghetto slum called “MBURUKENGE” in Mombasa. I had lost my job, separated from my family, desperate and hopeless. While there I managed to witness a lot of suffering as well as some hope among the slum residents. A hope that instilled in me the spirit to fight on and eventually left the slum but I promised to tell the story and find ways to uplift those people so that if they see me successful and I was among them then that would go a long way to motivate the ghetto youth.
